Hello
My name is Liana Chetnik. I am the owner of Creative Abiltities LLC. Creative Abilities is an inclusive art studio and tutoring center. My goals are to provide an artistic space that is welcoming to artists with disabilities and their families. I also strive to provide an artistic outlet for local kids and help bridge the educational gap that many students face.
Although, I teach art to individuals with disabilties I am not an art therapist and I do not practice Art Therapy. I am a Special Education teacher who believes that everyone should have equal access to artistic spaces in their community.
I provide personalized tutoring services to students with and without disabilities using a combination of play based, movement, creative and traditional tutoring methods. I also believe in the importance of enjoyment, choice and personalization in helping children catch up.

My Story
My name is Liana Chetnik. I am the owner of Creative Abiltities LLC. I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I have worked in a variety of media including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, costumes, set design, graphic design, etc. I have had experience doing costumes for school shows, entering my work in art shows, creating logos, and painting on pretty much anything. Throughout high school and college I volunteered teaching art classes at the Bloomingdale Free Public Library.
I graduated from Montclair State Univeristy with my BA in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in school settings and a minor in Art in 2017. I earned my MAT in Special Education P-12 in 2018. I worked as a Direct Support Professional while in college and learned the importance of art for individuals with disabilities.
I taught Preschool, 2nd and 3rd Grade LLD. After I left teaching, I tutored virtually and in person. I started Creative Abilities in 2021. I have tutored in home, provided 1:1 personalized art and education sessions, taught art classes at the library and taught classes for scout groups. I also have done various painting projects over the years. Most recently I painted murals at Martha B Day school.
